About PYHA
Pakistan Youth Hostels Association (PYHA)

The Pakistan Youth Hostels Association (PYHA) is a non-profit national organization dedicated to making travel more accessible for young people, students, and explorers across Pakistan. For over seven decades, PYHA has promoted youth mobility, cultural exchange, and affordable accommodation, helping generations discover Pakistan through travel and community.
PYHA is registered under the Societies Act 1860 and is officially recognized by the Government of Pakistan as the national body responsible for youth hostelling. The Association operates under its constitution and is financially supported by the Pakistan Youth Hostels Association Trust along with relevant public sector support.
PYHA is a member of Hostelling International, connecting Pakistan’s youth travel ecosystem to a global network of hostels, travelers, and cultural exchange programs.
Our Network
Today, PYHA runs a growing network of youth hostels across major cities and travel corridors in Pakistan. With hostels already operating nationwide and several new properties under development, PYHA continues to expand safe, affordable, and community-centered accommodation options for students, backpackers, domestic tourists, and international guests.
Each hostel is designed to promote cultural exchange, responsible travel, and a welcoming environment that reflects Pakistan’s rich hospitality.
Our Mission
PYHA’s mission is simple:
- Promote youth travel and cultural exploration within Pakistan
- Provide affordable and safe accommodation facilities
- Encourage learning through travel, community, and exchange
- Support the development of responsible tourism in the country
Our Services & Amenities
At PYHA, we provide safe, affordable, and youth-friendly facilities designed to make your stay comfortable and connected.
A Legacy Rooted in Travel

Youth hosteling in South Asia predates Pakistan’s independence, emerging as an organized movement focused on travel, learning, and cross-cultural understanding. PYHA was formally established in December 1951 and became one of the earliest organizations promoting structured youth hosteling in the region. Over the years, thousands of students and young travelers have stayed in PYHA hostels while studying, exploring, volunteering, or simply experiencing Pakistan’s landscapes and culture.

Governance & Leadership
PYHA is governed by its constitution and operates through the Pakistan Youth Hostels Association Trust, which safeguards its assets and provides financial continuity for the organization. The Trust manages investments and properties to support operations and long-term sustainability.
The current National Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Association is Ambassador (R) Mr. Qazi Humayoun, who oversees the national network, development programs, partnerships, and modernization initiatives.
Looking Forward
As Pakistan’s travel landscape evolves, PYHA continues to expand its reach by upgrading facilities, opening new hostels, and creating opportunities for young travelers. With a renewed focus on cultural exchange, student travel, hostelling culture, and sustainable tourism, PYHA is committed to empowering the next generation of explorers.
Through consistent service standards and modern facilities, PYHA aims to make quality budget accommodation accessible to travelers from all walks of life.
